Fresh Conflict Breaks Out in Eith Sector

After long months of relative peace in Eith Sector a new Syntha offensive has redrawn the lines of control in Eith Sector.

Two small patrols from Syntha and the Junkers clashed, and unlike most patrols that trade fire and pull back to their respective zones, for some unknown reason this engagement escalated - pulling in more and more troops until what had started as an isolated skirmish expanded rapidly into a firefight unseen in the local area for months.

INN reporters were unable to get any comment from Junker Command, nor the ever-reclusive Syntha. One remaining roamer in the area, who called himself Ferrius, offered an exclusive interview in exchange for a few cans of food, but INN remains dedicated to the journalistic principles of not paying for interviews. Nevertheless upon seeing his hastily-taken picts of the action we came to a mutual beneficial agreement.

Ferrius's comments on the battle: "Was surprised to see anybody fighting over the scraps remaining here- only one building in ten has come through without serious damage! But there they were, fightin' like jackals over the ground. Them bots really had the upper hand the whole time, but Junkers never seem to give in despite the odds being totally against them - they gotta really get bloodied before they give up.

"What it seemed like to me was that Junkers were trying to get past the Syntha barracades - and some of them actually did it, swarming over them - but the bots closed ranks.  This really fast girl, all prettied up with that Syntha tech-suit and all, came zooming over and BAM BAM BAM - she closed the hole and put down a bunch of them Junker-boys.  After that they seemed to lose interest and most of them fell back.  Still I counted about 30 of them down to only 4 of the bots."

We've enclosed a few of the picts to illustrate what he saw, apparently huddled a short distance from much of the fight before a hasty departure when Syntha elements swept the surrounding buildings for any lurking survivors.
